Week Four Recap and Important Info
Hey Sharks!
Sorry my weekly email is a little late, but nevertheless here it is and there is a lot of important information to be covered so please read through it all.
This week we had our first competition meet which went great! While the final score was Sea Lions 261 Sharks 246, I am so proud of our team and how good we handled ourselves and kept up with a team that had double the number of swimmers in the meet as us. We had 101 improved times which is fantastic. This week we also started moving into sets in practice to work on our endurance and strength building.
Concession Coordinator Needed
As per my last email I sent out a request for two volunteers to be our concession coordinators. Concessions are an important and fun part of our meets and we really need volunteers to step up and help out in this department. Duties include:
1. Buying ice for coolers and helping with set-up for home meets
2. Ordering hot food on the days of the home meet and organizing delivery or pick up
Please reach out to Natalie Osborn on 651-206-6888 or [email protected] for further details.
Meet THIS Tuesday
Our meet this week is against Walden Creek at home, and they have agreed to switch to an In Person meet rather than their original request for a virtual meet. Please declare your swimmer by tomorrow at noon at the absolute latest and also make sure you sign up to volunteer. These meets only work with a substantial number of volunteers and we request that one parent for every swimmer helps out so thank you in advance. Also, if you have any requests for meet events or have a swimmer that is going to be late to the meet please put it in the notes section when declaring your swimmer and I will do my best to accommodate and try my best to meet the requests if I can.
Buddy Updates and This Week’s Meet Theme
This week’s meet theme is Glow in the Dark! I hope to see lots of glow sticks and necklaces at this meet and in buddy gifts. Also, I have attached an updated buddy list after getting updates of swimmers who will not be participating in our meets this year so please refer to that.
Swimmers of the Week
This Week’s Swimmers of the Week are:
Cole Nuesell from the Makos
Maggie Jacxsens from the Tigers
Rocco Ciccolini from the Hammerheads
This week’s swimmers of the week are some swimmers who have made immense progress this week or who have just had great attitudes at all of the practices. GO SHARKS
Meet Results
We have had some questions in if we are going to upload swimmer times from the meets and we are still figuring out our new software, but I have attached the results of our mock meet and all other time trials we did at practice are on there, and I have attached the results of our Scottish Hills meet as well for those who are hoping to track progress.
Thank you to all of our volunteers at the Scottish Hills Meet and thank you parents for keeping up with our changed practice schedule. We are having a great time, and everyone is making great progress. As always feel free to email me with any questions.
Go Sharks!
